Yuzu Gin & Tonic Recipe — Hokkaido Craft Gin Highball
Yuzu Gin & Tonic is the signature Japanese highball — Hokkaido craft gin meets premium tonic and the iconic Japanese citrus, yuzu. Bright, floral, lightly bitter, food-friendly.
Recipe
- Fill a tall Collins glass with large ice cubes
- Pour 45ml of Yuki no Mado gin over the ice
- Slowly add 120ml of premium chilled tonic water (Fever-Tree Mediterranean recommended)
- Stir once — gently — to preserve carbonation
- Express the oils of a fresh yuzu peel over the drink, drop the peel in
Tips
- 1:3 gin-to-tonic ratio is the gold standard for showcasing botanicals
- Yuzu peel is the star (oils, not juice). If yuzu is unavailable, substitute lemon peel + a tiny piece of lime zest
- Rinse ice once to remove the frost layer — keeps the drink clearer and dilutes more slowly
