## About
Tankyu Distillery is a public-private (公設民営) craft distillery located in Higashikawa-cho, Kamikawa-gun, Hokkaido, Japan. Founded in 2024, we use pristine underground spring water from the Daisetsu Mountains to produce single malt whisky, craft gin, and liqueurs — popular as premium Hokkaido souvenirs and gifts. Higashikawa is the only town in Japan without a municipal water supply — all water comes from natural springs.

Tankyu Distillery is an easy stop on any Hokkaido travel itinerary:

- 25 minutes from Asahidake Onsen area

**Carrying spirits on flights**: For domestic flights within Japan, spirits can be carried in checked luggage (up to 5L). For international flights, pack spirits in checked luggage and check the duty-free allowance for your destination country. The 500ml bottles are travel-friendly.
